Description

The Nadezhda shows high tolerance to pollution and is therefore regularly planted in parks or city squares in the vicinity of other ornamental shrubs. Equally often appears in home gardens. During the flowering period, lilac twigs also look beautiful as a home decoration in a vase.
The most convenient position for the development of lilac will be a sunny place, but it will also do well in a position in partial shade (but then it may bloom less profusely). Fertile, well-drained loamy or loamy-sandy soil (neutral or slightly alkaline) will be ideal for it. The most important thing is that it is not too wet, as it increases the susceptibility of the plant to fungal diseases.Lilac care is not complicated. It is enough to water it during the drought period. The plant grows relatively quickly, so it is important to prune it regularly (preferably once a year). You can additionally strengthen it by removing suckers growing from the roots and feeding, thanks to which the inflorescences will become denser and thicker. It is worth remembering that only plants that are more than three years old should be fertilized – younger specimens of common lilac do not need power. About two weeks after the end of flowering, you need to cut off faded inflorescences so that Nadezhda does not grow too large and blooms better in the next season. It is important not to do it too late – otherwise the flowers may be excessively thinned the next year.
