Description

Decorative sedge, also in winter, with narrow, slightly bent leaves, forming wide, dense clumps up to 40 cm high. Plants stay in compact clumps longer due to the very short underground stolons. Evergreen leaves with narrow white edges. The plant is also impressive during flowering, thanks to its impressive yellow stamens. It blooms in April. Requires humus soil, permeable, constantly but moderately moist. Resistant to pests and diseases. Requires a sheltered position, is somewhat sensitive to frost and drying winds. Frost resistance depends on the local conditions of the habitat and the condition of the plants. In spring, it is good to prune completely or partially frozen leaves. This operation can be a nuisance with a large number of plants, so it is worth planting several plants in the vicinity of Hosta or evergreen rhododendrons.
