Description

Shrub with attractively curved shoots and decorative male inflorescences. A variety obtained reaches 2-3 m in height, branches strongly. Stems S-shaped or spirally twisted. Green, twisted leaves, covered with soft hairs on the underside. Shrubs are most beautiful in the leafless period, during flowering. Flowers appear before the leaves develop, in February – March. The male flowers are gathered in long catkins hanging from the tops of the side branches. The dusty yellow catkins combined with the bent shoots create an effective composition. The female flowers are inconspicuous, hidden in the buds, during flowering they stick out only the red stigmas of the pistils. Easy to grow plant, prefers calcareous soils, moderately moist, sunny to semi-shaded positions. Frost-resistant variety, recommended for planting in exposed places in home gardens and urban and housing estate greenery.
