Description

A small shrub with a spreading, but compact and almost spherical shape, usually growing up to about 1 m in height. Initially, young shoots have a dark pink color and lay down in a characteristic way. Older shoots rise slightly upwards and then arch. The plant is distinguished primarily by the interesting color of the leaves, which are green in early spring, and over time irregular, white or pink spots appear on them, which are very decorative.

In autumn, these leaves turn scarlet, which is why the autumn garden gains charm and vivid colors. The leaves themselves are small, tiny, obovate, but there are a lot of them and they cover all shoots profusely. This variety is not demanding in cultivation. Ordinary garden soil will suffice, and it is also very tolerant of soil pH and moisture. However, it grows best on moderately moist soils. Prefers sunny or semi-shaded positions. It is a plant recommended for larger and smaller home gardens, but also as an urban or ground cover plant.
